Who’s Who at Westbourne

With 19 years in education, including leadership in international schools, I’m excited to join Westbourne School.

Miss Cox BA (Hons) PGCE NPQH has been at Westbourne since 2011, having worked in the independent & state sector, and for the Local Authority. Achieving the National Professional Qualification for Headship in 2022. Natalie has two daughters.

Mr Birbeck MA (Cantab) PGCE has worked at Westbourne for over 14 years since moving to the area with his family; prior to that he lead successful Maths departments in large comprehensive state schools. Mr Birbeck has one daughter.

Mr Hawker BA (Hons), PGDipEd, MA has been at Westbourne since 2019, having worked in the state sector before this. He previously coordinated Mathematics provision in the Junior School, and is originally from the West Midlands.

Adam Anderson started as Bursar in October 2023. Has worked in education for over 33 years as a Business Manager / Bursar in Junior, Senior Schools as well as for Large Multi Academy Trusts. He has a family of 4, two girls and two boys.

Dr Hounsome PhD PGCE has worked at Westbourne since 2022. He has more than 10 years of experience working in education. Previously, he worked as a microbiologist in academia and industry. Dr Hounsome has one son

A current parent of two boys in the Senior School. Dorrien Peters joined the Governing Body in March 2020. He has been a solicitor for nearly 20 years and is a commercial disputes partner at a leading national law firm.

Ian is the Sheffield Hallam University Link Tutor for trainee teachers, where he is also an Associate Lecturer. Ian was Head Teacher at Dore Primary School from 1986 to 2008 & a mentor to Head Teachers for the LEA for 10 years.

Marcus Schofield is a parent of both a past pupil and a current pupil of the school giving him a 12 year connection with Westbourne. With over 24 years in media working with regional news brands such as the Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Star...

Parent of two. Duncan joined us in 2021.

Mum of two teenage boys, Sarah joined us in 2021. She has been a GP partner for 12 years and a GP trainer in a busy Sheffield practice.

Andrea, a parent of two senior school pupils. Joined the governing body in 2022. Transitioning from a 10-year career in Family Law to her current roles as Senior Lecturer and the Equality, Diversity, & Inclusivity lead at Sheffield Hallam.
