I am an Artificial Intelligence Policy Advisor for the Department for Education, and have a PhD in the social impacts of technology. My role focusses on understanding the impact of generative AI on schools and colleges, including how it can be used safely, responsibly and effectively.

My son is currently in Year 4 and I would like to use my expertise to support Westbourne to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by generative AI. To me, this means when to use (and when not to use) AI, how to evaluate outputs, and most crucially, how to retain the productive struggle and human relationships that underpin learning.
