Mrs Emma Rees-Oxley
Interim Assistant Head for Pastoral, Behavioural, SEND and Safeguarding. Year 1 Class Teacher
Equipping pupils with essential life skills – academically, emotionally, and socially – is at the heart of my approach.
For 16 years, I have been dedicated to shaping young minds, with 11 of those years spent enriching the Westbourne community over two distinct periods. My expertise spans Early Years Foundation Stage, where I served as Head of Early Years, and Key Stage 1, giving me a comprehensive understanding of early childhood education. My passion lies in nurturing the whole child, creating a learning environment where safety, support, and excitement are paramount. Being a mother of two boys provides me with a unique perspective on the diverse needs of children and the challenges they face in today's world. This personal experience allows me to better understand children's developmental journeys and identify strategies that can support them and their families. I firmly believe every child possesses unique talents, and with the right encouragement, they can flourish, achieve their full potential, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Equipping pupils with essential life skills – academically, emotionally, and socially – is at the heart of my approach. I prioritize open and effective communication with pupils, staff, and parents, fostering strong relationships and transparency to ensure our children thrive both academically and personally.
