Mrs Louise Luck
Post 16, Careers and Enrichment Coordinator French Teacher
Our children have so much potential, I am here as their cheerleader, to encourage and help them find their talents and then celebrate them as they grow.
I joined the Westbourne family in 2021 as a French Teacher and immediately felt at home. It has been a joy teaching here and I consider myself very fortunate to be working here.
Since working here, I have led two French trips, Nice and then the Opal Coast. I also accompany our students to Ridgway Adventure in Scotland. I wholeheartedly believe that learning happens in the classroom, but there is so much to learn in the world around us and in the relationships we build within our communities. It is essential that we create opportunities for our children to try new things and have adventures within safe boundaries, where they can learn how to manage life when it is going well and when it is tough. Resilience is so important, as is knowing that you belong to a strong community who is there for you.
School trips are also a unique opportunity to get to know the Westbourne family that little bit better. I love it.
I started in my new role in 2025. It is a privilege for me to help our children enjoy discovering more about the subjects they are learning in enrichment alongside enabling them to see the opportunities they have ahead of them in careers and post 16. Our children have so much potential, I am here as their cheerleader, to encourage and help them find their talents and then celebrate them as they grow.
I love languages. My love of France and French began aged 8 with a pen friend whom I’m still in touch with now. I have been teaching French since 1998, but most importantly, I’ve been teaching children. My heart is to see young people grow in character, to know they are known and valued, so that they can become the best they can be.
I live in Sheffield with my husband Dave, our son went to university in Bristol and stayed on. We are part of our local church community and love to have neighbours, friends and uni students who are away from home over to us for meals. Being family is really important to us. We love to go walking, especially by the sea. I enjoy an early morning swim at Hathersage pool when I can and I love to be creative with textiles and food
