Celebrating Angel Dusauzay: A Young Autism Advocate & Author!
Westbourne is enormously proud of Angel Dusauzay and her work with Sparkle Sheffield, a local charity supporting autistic children and young people and other social communication differences. HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh recently visited the charity recognising her incredible advocacy.
At just 15 years old, Angel has already authored three inspiring books for autistic children: The Awesome Autistic Girl’s Guide to Life, Brilliant Autistic Boy’s Guide to Life, and Loved Just As You Are. These guides are filled with fun activities, affirmations, and practical advice to help children navigate everyday challenges.
Angel has been sharing her lived experiences and inspiring understanding since the age of 7, appearing on BBC Newsround, speaking at autism fairs, and visiting schools across the UK. Through her voice, she encourages acceptance, inclusion, and celebration of neurodiversity. Angel is also the Head Student overseeing our School value of Resilience.

Mr Edmanson commented:
“Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at Westbourne School, and Angel truly embodies this value. Her courage in sharing her lived experience and her dedication to advocating for autistic children is deeply inspiring. We are enormously proud of Angel and the powerful message of acceptance, understanding and celebration of neurodiversity that she continues to share.”
