BBC Verify on Tour!

A small group of keen Year 10 pupils, accompanied by Mrs Moss and Miss Smith, had an exciting and educational day at Sheffield Hallam University for the BBC Verify on Tour! event.

The trip aimed to spark an interest in the creative industry and offer a first hand look into the world of news. Our pupils participated in several engaging workshops, including creating 3D "Splat models" in an immersive technology session. They delved into the critical topic of disinformation and its global impact, gaining valuable insights into how fake news can influence world events. The day also featured talks from podcast and documentary producers, providing a fascinating look behind the scenes of creative storytelling, including the making of 'Adolescence'. We were incredibly impressed by our pupils' maturity and confidence throughout the day, representing our school brilliantly.
