This morning, our Westbourne school community came together in quiet reflection to honour those who gave their lives in service. Our Head Pupils began the ceremony with a moving reading of ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae, followed by a beautiful performance of ‘This Remembrance Day’ by pupils from Years 3 to 6, led by Mrs Stroud. Mr Edmanson led the Act of Remembrance and Exhortation, joined by staff and pupils across all year groups, before the traditional Two Minutes’ Silence was observed — a moment of stillness and gratitude. Finally, Year 11 and our youngest pupils from Reception and Year 1 laid a wreath and planted poppies in remembrance of fallen Old Westbournians, symbolising the passing on of remembrance through generations. “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We will remember them.” #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #WestbourneRemembers #WestbourneSchool Image
