Games
Building Confidence Through Individual and Team Based Sports.
At Westbourne School, the Games curriculum provides pupils with a well-rounded education in sports, covering a wide range of activities from team sports to individual sports, and from traditional to modern sports. The curriculum is designed to be adaptable to different age groups and skill levels, offering opportunities for progression and specialisation. It also includes a strong focus on fitness, which is an integral part of any sports programme. The aim is to provide pupils with a comprehensive sporting experience, promoting physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
In addition to the physical aspects, the curriculum also incorporates cross-curricular links. The study of sports is connected to subjects such as history, geography, science, and mathematics, providing pupils with a more holistic understanding of the world around them.
This curriculum is continuously evolving to meet the needs of our pupils. We are committed to finding new and innovative ways to teach sports while providing the best possible resources and facilities. We believe our Games curriculum offers pupils an excellent foundation for a future in sports, whether they aspire to be professional athletes, coaches, or simply enjoy being involved in sport.
