Finance Governor

As a governor at Westbourne School, my goal is to help create an environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and personally. I am committed to supporting the school’s leadership in delivering an outstanding education while ensuring a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for all.

I have a strong background in property development in Sheffield, with a particular focus on Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, and compliance. My expertise allows me to provide guidance on building maintenance, health and safety compliance, and strategic planning.

All three of my children have attended Westbourne, with my eldest daughter starting in Reception in 2009. When my son completed Senior School in 2023, I thought my journey with Westbourne had come to an end. However, in November 2023, I was given the opportunity to join the Governing Board. As a former parent, I was delighted to accept the role and continue my connection with the school.

I chose to become a governor to give back to a school that has provided my children with such a positive and enriching experience. I strongly believe in Westbourne’s core principles—small class sizes, a family-oriented environment, and a holistic approach that nurtures each child’s strengths. I want to contribute to ensuring these values continue to thrive for future generations of pupils.

As a member of the Finance Committee, my role includes:

  1. Overseeing financial planning and resource allocation
  2. Supporting strategic development and operational governance
  3. Ensuring accountability and transparency in school governance

Since joining the governing body, I have been actively involved in strengthening financial sustainability and supporting initiatives to enhance the school’s infrastructure.

Outside of my role as a governor, I serve as a Trustee at the Sheffield Sikh Temple (Gurdwara), where I play a key role in mentoring and community projects. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, walking in the Peak District, watching and playing football, and following Formula 1.
