As part of their new topic called ‘Space Explorers’, Year 1 pupils have been reading a book called Beegu and at the start of the book, Beegu crash lands on an unfamiliar planet.
Without revealing the book, the children explored some of the key themes.
Outcomes for this activity:
Children were asking relevant questions to extend their understanding.
Children considered and evaluated different viewpoints.
Children participated in discussions.
The children decided that a UFO had landed and they described what the scene looked like.
They decided the UFO had come from outer space or possibly another planet. They considered what it would be like to crash land on another planet and had great fun acting this out in school.
