News from the Library and the Westbourne Word!
Thank you to all students who attended Yr7-8 Book – it was great to see so many new faces! We really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about Stargazing For Beginners. The next book up for discussion is The Skylark’s War by Hilary McKay. Date of next meeting: Thursday 18th November 1pm.
Don’t forget that Yr 9-11 MAPs book group will meet on Thursday 11th November to discuss Patrick Suskind’s Perfume. New members welcome.

“Hi! We’re Nell, Charlotte and Heidi and we are the new Head Librarians. We’re so excited to be leading book groups and helping the new team of student librarians that work in the library!
Over the past half term, we have worked hard to open up the library after lockdown. Now that it’s back up and running again, we’ve got loads of exciting events planned for the coming months. We kick off with Spinechillers: a collection of spooky books for you to read, compiled by the student librarians just in time for Halloween! Drop by the library before the end of November and choose from a range of stories that we think are fit for your seasonal mood!”

Our student journalists have been busy compiling this year’s first edition of the student magazine. As usual, it’s packed full of interesting reads, from tips on how to revise, a debate on animal testing and a piece about the power of cholcoate. There’s all the usual recommendations, reviews, puzzles and quizzes too. Click here to read all about it!
