Replica 1960’s RS 2.7 Porsche 911 Presented for Generous Donation
We were delighted to welcome Steven and Kelly Taylor of Solarframe in Goldthorpe near Rotherham, to officially open our Garden Studio today. It was due to the extreme generosity of the Taylors in donating the studio structure itself, that made this project possible.
Headmaster John Hicks explained how grateful we were to have this fabulous new facility and how much our children would benefit from using this new space.
Primarily planned for a wellbeing space, the studio will also be used for one-to-one lessons, presentations and due to the bi-fold doors opening onto three tiered levels – it made the perfect performance space.
A massive thank you was also extended to Governor Glenn Day for being the driving force behind this project and for galvanising unprecedented generosity amongst Westbourne parents into supporting Steven and Kelly’s offer.
Mr Day was also instrumental in not only presenting our gift, but personally constructing it.
” Having been acquainted with Steven for several decades and sharing his passion for cars, I knew that he coveted a 1960’s RS 2.7 Porsche 911, so I set about making one for him…a model of course! said Governor Glenn Day.
The model weighing 8kgs, complete with a working engine, lights, horn, opening doors, bonnet and boot, took Glenn over 100 man hours to complete.
Mr Taylor was delighted with the model which will take pride of place in his boardroom.
