Dear All

The return to school in September was a welcome relief to the lockdown of the previous four months. Children and staff were excited and pleased to renew acquaintances and re-establish friendships.

The 60 or so new pupils slotted straight in and have buoyed our numbers to a new all-time record at 376. Our vision to develop the school to a maximum of 400 is on target and our plans to build 3 new classrooms and a sports hall on the existing Junior School Hall site is once again picking up momentum.

We have enjoyed using our brand new £200K new Senior School Hall for Drama and more recently the Year 11 mock exams. We have also enjoyed using our new Garden Studio as a place for well-being, peace and tranquillity.

Our outdoor learning opportunities continue to inspire our children’s learning and being a safe place for adults to congregate. It’s also been a place where staff have held parent meetings and Mr Magenty has become the ‘staff tea waller’.

Where would we be without Google platform and chrome books; GC’s and GM’s are now common terms. I am so glad we decided 3 years ago to switch from Microsoft to this platform as it’s certainly helped with our remote learning. The new normal has certainly made us think about the future and we have plans to continue with quite a lot of the new structure as we move into 2021. The one thing we are missing the most is the events, including sports fixtures, music, concerts, open days, Christmas fayres and the like.

I am immensely grateful to all our staff for their professionalism and going the extra mile to keep our children safe, happy and engaged. I also congratulate the children for upholding the school values so well during these challenging times.

Many thanks to our Governors for all their endeavors and support, they make a huge difference to the quality of our school.

Lastly, a big thank you to our parent body for all your support, kind words and gestures. May you all have a restful and happy Christmas with your families.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and prosperous New Year.

Your choice. Their future.
