Key Worker Children – Monday 18/05/2020
The start of another week with our KWC here at Westbourne and our community, as it feels like it has become, came together again for a good day of learning – from EYFS up to Year 8. A full range of subjects were studied today, from English and literacy, through to arithmetic and geometry. The afternoon’s learning saw French, Traditional Tales, ICT, History and Humanities all being studied by our KWC, with most keen to share the new knowledge they are absorbing.
Our pupils who have been coming in during this lockdown, have really settled into their routine and have made the workspaces their own in the Junior School’s ICT suite, creating a sense of familiarity at this time. Adopting the new technologies and channels for teaching with the old, we had Year 6 working on their learning online alongside Year 1 using scissors and paper to learn about levers, of course maintaining their distance as per guidelines.
Tomorrow sees our KWC enjoying another yoga session, hopefully outdoors weather permitting, thanks to Mrs Khan who is very kindly coming in again to give our students the opportunity to engage in activity outdoors and complement what will be another day of learning online.
