Key Worker Children – Friday 22/05/2020
It was the last day of school before the Summer half-term break and our KWC were in again, working on their studies, as well as enjoying fitness sessions to give them a good dose of physical activity to balance out their time working online in our ICT suite.
Pupils today were mainly Junior School students, but we had pupils from Year 3 up to Year 10, all working on their studies, including History, Literature, ICT and even Electronics. The day began with the virtual Junior School assembly and our KWC joined in, participating remotely via Google Meet and enjoying the theme, along with the reports of how their peers were doing and getting an opportunity to see them – albeit via a screen.
Mid-morning saw our weekly fitness session with Adam Day take place and the children have really appreciated him volunteering his time to come into school and use his expertise to deliver an enjoyable, fun and active session for the pupils. All age groups have been able to get involved and this has been great to see.
The return to school will see a different kind of teaching again for our KWC, but after seeing how they’ve adapted during this half-term, I’m sure they will continue to advance their learning and take forward all they have learned during these last 5 weeks.
