Key Worker Children – Friday 15/05/2020
The final day of another week of learning for our KWC here at Westbourne. Our students were busy this morning with Google Meets and remote teaching from their tutors, allowing them to work on their screens, receive live input from their teacher, and discuss the subjects with their peers in real time. Learning was put into real-life contexts, such as interpreting data to solve problems.
Pupils were also engaged in watching the weekly Junior School assembly and discussed Mr Clark’s message about continuing to work with resilience, determination, teamwork and desire to succeed. They believed it gave them hope and encouragement to keep working hard. The afternoon saw a wide variety of subjects taught via Google Classroom to our KS2 students in today, including computer studies as part of ICT, Art and story time, providing a great balance to the day.
We had good weather again, so took this opportunity to move outside mid-morning onto the yard for a fitness session with Adam Day, which has become a weekly fixture and one that our KWC really enjoy and benefit from greatly. We appreciate his time and he, along with Mrs Khan, will be back next week for more yoga and fitness for our KWC here at Westbourne.
