Book Onto Our Autumn Series Of Open Events! Find Out About Scholarships!
Firstly, I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Westbourne family. After nineteen years in Education, including the UK state sector and twelve years of leading in high performing International Independent schools, I have been lucky enough to work with amazing young people, committed and innovative staff teams, and highly supportive parents. I can’t wait to do likewise, joining Westbourne School, as I move back to the UK.
I will be moving to Sheffield with my wife, Amanda, and our two dogs, Dexie and Walter. We are thoroughly looking forward to getting to know the city, exploring the Peak District and meeting you all. During my time spent in the school I had the pleasure of being introduced to such passionate and invested staff, but I was also able to see a school that harboured so many strengths and, yet still, possessed such potential. However, what really struck me was how open and welcoming the children were. They were an absolute joy to meet and the biggest compliment I can pay them is that I left my two days at the school knowing that this was a very special place and that I wanted, so very much, to be a part of it.
To share a little more on educational values, I am a firm believer that all children should have the opportunity to sample a rich curriculum, which develops and challenges them (whatever their starting point in their learning), both academically and more holistically. I also firmly believe in the importance of fostering an appreciation of diversity and inclusion, as we nurture and create opportunities for our pupils to become their best selves, but also for our staff to grow and thrive. Additionally, as an educational leader, I pride myself on bringing a level of care, organisation and clarity to all I do, and I hope that you will see this from me in both how I lead and in my daily communication.
