Sophie’s short cut gives cancer charity a major boost
Sophie Dickinson has always treasured her beautiful hair…but she also knew
that she could do good by getting it cut.
So she’s gone for a radical crop and given the hair to The Little Princess
Trust, the charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and
young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
And friends and fellow pupils at Westborune School in Broomhill, are
supporting her by making a financial donation to accompany Sophie’s gift.
“Over the years, people have often mentioned how long my hair is, and asked
if I was ever going to donate it,” said 15-year-old Sophie, who lives in Nether
Edge.
“To be honest, I was afraid to lose something I believed gave me value but I
know now that hair never defined me, and the thought of it benefiting
somebody else made me realise it was the right thing to do.
“Now somebody else will have the chance to enjoy something that is taken for
granted, and I can try rocking a shorter look!”
