Grandparents’ Day: A Special Celebration at Westbourne!

Westbourne Junior School Welcomes Grandparents for a Special Morning of Learning and Celebration

Over 80 members of our school community enjoyed a wonderful morning as Westbourne Junior School opened its classroom doors to our amazing grandparents on Tuesday.

Our special guests were treated to a delightful performance by our talented soloists and the Junior School Choir. The morning began with refreshments, including delicious cream scones, as we wanted our grandparents to feel spoilt and to know how valued they are by our Westbourne family.

Following the performance, our grandparents were invited to step back in time and join their grandchildren in the classroom for a unique shared learning experience. It was a joy to see different generations engaging in curriculum activities together.

Our Head Pupils also took the opportunity to speak to our special guests, sharing their own Westbourne journey and highlighting the enormous importance that grandparents and extended family members play in our Westbourne community. Their support, wisdom, and involvement are integral to the success and well-being of our school.

It was a truly memorable day, filled with music, learning, and a deep sense of connection across the generations. We are grateful to all the grandparents and extended family members who joined us and helped make this event such a success.
