English Corridor Transformation Project: Pupil Artists and Engineers
Last term, pupils were invited to submit designs for a literary-inspired piece of artwork to brighten up the English corridor in Ashdell House. Three talented pupil artists were chosen to bring their designs to life. Amanda, Ella, and Harriet dedicated their time and talent after school for many weeks, transforming the corridor from a blank white space into a colourful, engaging mural celebrating English literature.
Y10 Engineering pupils then took on the challenge of designing signage for the corridor. Each pupil independently designed and 3D-printed an individual letter, now incorporated into the artwork. Their designs had to be literary-inspired, and some pupils even integrated elements from an author’s work, showcasing impressive skill and creativity!
The results are fantastic! The English Department and Mr Binns have been thoroughly impressed by the dedication, creativity, and collaboration shown in this cross-curricular project. The transformation has truly enhanced the school environment. Well done to everyone involved!
Miss Smith says “A huge thank you to Ms Leyland for coordinating this ambitious project and to Mr Binns and Mrs Moss for all their help and hard work!
