June 2022 :“I have an offer from Oxford to study English and Beginners’ Italian and in my admissions essay I borrowed a lot of ideas from A.C. Bradley, who I would probably never have come across if you hadn’t given me his writings on Macbeth in that Year 9 English lesson!” Ex-Year 11 pupil

January 2022: “James had a great time all through Junior and Senior school and we feel that has made him what he is today; extremely hard working, conscientious and very confident. November 2021: Harry left in 2019 and is now playing Sedbergh Colts ‘A’ team and also with Sale Sharks U16 Academy and playing some great Rugby.

September 2021: “Hi Sir, I just felt like I had to email you since I’ve decided to do physics at uni and am leaving for it on Saturday. I chose York by the way. You’re the reason I enjoyed Physics so much at GCSE and why I took it as an A-Level. My teachers at A-Level were also good but if I’m being honest you set the bar a little too high for physics teachers. I looked forward to every single one of your lessons when I was at Westbourne, and I’m sure your students now still do… thanks for being the best physics teacher ever and the reason I chose to do a degree in it.” Email from a former student to his teacher, Ex Year 11 pupil.

September 2021:“We are thrilled to let you know that it has now been confirmed that Helen has achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Mental Health Nursing from Sheffield Hallam with a mark of 81.8% which we believe is the highest mark in Mental Health Nursing! As well as starting her job in community healthcare with elder adults, the University is talking to her about the possibility of lecturing.” message from a parent of an ex pupil.

September 2021: “Joel’s mum rang to let us know that he got an A, A* and A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and he is going on to Birmingham University to study economics. She thanked Westbourne for all the support!”
