STEPHANIE CONNELLY
Owner and Principal of the Old School House Nursery School, Sheffield. Has had strong links with
Westbourne School since opening the Nursery School in September 1990. Is a committed advocate of the
pursuit of excellence in early years’ education. Was joint chair of the National Day Nurseries’
Association, Sheffield Branch and represented the Private Sector on the Sheffield Early Years’
Partnership. Has recently been invited to sit on the Early Years’ Reference Group that will be
dealing with the free entitlement in both the private and maintained sectors. Stephanie has a
son and daughter. She spends a lot of time with her family and her interests are painting,
walking her dog and is currently learning to play golf.
DENISE DAVIDSON BA(Hons), MEd(Cantab)
Headmistress of Gateways School, Leeds since 1997, with a wealth of educational experience from
setting up a school on Tuvalu (where her husband was Attorney General), being appointed the
first housemistress/senior mistress at Oundle School, and Deputy Head of Mount St. Mary’s for
three years. Currently a member of the GSA Council, the GSA Inspection Committee and Chair of
the GSA North East Region. Also involved in running courses for aspiring heads through the
HMC/GSA professional development body. Married to Neil with 5 grown up children and 7 grandchildren.
Hobbies include music, walking, gardening, travel and reading.
DR FRANCES O’CONNOR
Parent Governor
Read Medicine at Oxford University and St. Thomas’ Hospital London. She has been a partner in
General Practice in southwest Sheffield for 12 years. Frances has three children at Westbourne
School and having been the first woman to study medicine at St. John’s College, Oxford, is
delighted that her children have been able to attend a co-educational school in Sheffield.
Enthusiastic about education, she is currently a student at Sheffield Hallam university, studying
History of Art and Italian.
EMILDA EATON
Parent Governor
Emilda has been a parent governor since September 2005 and has one child in Junior School. She is a
member of the legal profession and is presently a partner with a local practice. Emilda was educated
in Germany, Sri Lanka and Malaysia before coming over to the United Kingdom in 1986 to undertake her
further studies. She moved to Sheffield in 1993 when she qualified as a solicitor. Her main governor
role is advising the board on issues surrounding the Charity Commission.
ROBERT HOLROYD
Became Repton's 34th Headmaster in 2003. He was born and bred on the Wirral and attended Birkenhead
School before reading Modern Languages at Christ Church, Oxford, where he was Captain of Cricket and
Soccer and also a keen actor and choral singer. Spells then followed at Oakham School and the
International School in Bogota, Colombia, before a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education led to
his third teaching post at Radley College, Oxfordshire. There he was Head of Department and then
Housemaster for 10 years before moving to Repton with his wife, Penny, and two daughters, Eleanor
and Joanna, who attend Repton and Foremarke Hall respectively.
MARTIN LOXLEY

Educated at High Storrs, Sheffield. Following my qualification as a solicitor
(in 1980) I was made a partner at Irwin Mitchell where I am head of the
Family Law department. Married with 2 daughters; Charlotte who was educated
at Westbourne until age 11 and Sarah who continues at Westbourne. Member
of the Board since 2001. Elected Chairman in 2007. My interests include Sheffield
Wednesday F.C (more out of blind loyalty than enjoyment) racquetball and
golf. Live music remains a passion.
Major (Ret’d) CHARLES TURNER

Managing Director of Durham Duplex, a Manufacturer of Industrial Blades and Machine Knives. He
previously served 18 years in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and is a Member of the Company Of
Cutlers in Hallamshire, a Guardian of The Sheffield Assay Office and chairs the Made in Sheffield
Mark Steering Committee. His hobbies include Shooting, Skiing and Golf. He is married to Sarah
and they have 4 children.
