Thank you to parent, Dr Claire Wastafaran, for visiting our Pre-School and Reception children on the afternoon of 9th May.
In this fun-filled Teddy Surgery, children pretended to be doctors to their own Teddy bears. Teddies underwent thorough examinations whilst the children learned about simple medical procedures.
They started off by mixing bread, baked beans and lemonade together to see what food looks like once it is digested inside the stomach. Dr Wastakaran then split the children up into two groups, one group had Teddies with broken bones. The children enjoyed X-raying the Teddy’s body parts, giving them medicine and wrapping them up in bandages. The second group had Teddy bears that suffered with asthma. The children had to listen to the Teddy’s chest using a stethoscope and then gave them inhalers to help them to breathe.
The children all received for being brilliant such doctors!
