We believe in developing the whole child

In Pre-School and Reception Class we provide a mixture of structured teacher led activities alongside purposeful free play opportunities. We believe every child is different and unique and we tailor our teacher led activities to meet these individual needs.

It is differentiation that truly sets us apart

In Pre-School and Reception we offer the children the opportunity to learn and develop their literacy and numeracy skills.
Using the Jolly Phonics, Read Write Inc. and Letters and Sounds DFE document, children are taught phonics through differentiated groups, tailored to meet the individual child's needs.
Children’s skills are nurtured and extended – for example some Pre-School children are able to sound out and blend words, which allows them to learn their high frequency words and start reading books independently with staff. Setting children on the road to becoming competent independent readers when they enter Reception.
In Numeracy we follow the Rose Hub scheme and Numicon scheme to develop mastery skills. All teacher led activities prepare children for a smooth transition into school life.
We tailor the Numeracy lessons to meet each child’s abilities and we personalise each child’s learning journey - it is this differentiation that truly sets us apart.

This approach is complemented by a high adult-to-child ratio which enables a balanced of teacher led and child initiated learning where adults can develop and move children's learning forward through engaging in their play.
We have highly skilled and qualified EYFS practitioners and qualified teachers who have the skills to nurture and challenge the children in our setting so that they reach their full potential.

Our facilities give children the opportunity to explore and learn through first hand experiences, including out of-school excursions.

Our children are happy and cared for.

Here are a few of the positive comments we have received:

"It is the high quality of the teaching and learning that takes place along with the offer of specialist subjects that appeals to our parents. We tailor the phonics and numeracy lessons to meet each child’s abilities and we personalise each child’s learning journey - it is this differentiation that truly sets us apart."
