On Thursday 26th April Year 1 had an out of this world day at The National Space Centre, Leicester. The children enjoyed the Planetarium where they learnt what it was like in space and how to become an astronaut.
The visit started by going in to the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium where we travelled to the “edge of the universe and the beginning of time”. Next we came “face to face” with astronauts in spacesuits and “journeyed through the solar system to visit our planetary neighbours”.
“We had a fantastic day and the children took part in lots of fun activities. The children were a pleasure to take and behaved impeccably for the whole day. They showed a continued enthusiasm for all things ‘space’ when we were back at school and continue to be fascinated by the subject.
