On the back of Tuesday’s dramatic penalty shootout victory against Columbia in the World Cup finals, and in conjunction with a great deal of preparation work by Miss Ogden in the previous 10 days, we are delighted to announce that our children shared and celebrated the history and culture of the countries still involved and the core values of the World Cup.
This Friday was a non-uniform day where all our Junior School Children wore a football kit/shirt of either their favourite national or team side.
Throughout the day children had chance to take part in:
- A keepie uppie competition
- Goal scoring celebration pose
- A penalty shoot out
- Design their own Panini sticker, football shirt and new World Cup trophy
Each class had been assigned a country from the quarter final stages, who the children were asked to research further. Think, geography, culture, heritage, language, currency history, religion or famous people.
