What does Scholarship mean at Westbourne?
A Westbourne scholarship is not just about celebrating and nurturing excellence, it’s about sharing it. Our scholarship students are given the opportunity to engage in tailored enrichment activities and extra support in their chosen area of talent. They are supported by staff who are experts in their field, and encouraged to challenge themselves to achieve at the very highest level. But it doesn’t end there. Scholarship students also act as ambassadors within the school, sharing their enthusiasm and encouraging fellow students to take an active interest in their subject area.
Our next Scholarship examinations will take place on Monday 21st January 2019 and are open to both our existing pupils and external applicants looking to join Westbourne School in Year 7 in September 2019.
Entry into Westbourne School is not dependent on these examinations as we pride ourselves in being an academically non-selective school; however we do offer the opportunity of scholarships – reduced fee places, to children who have been identified as being more able and would therefore benefit from the academic opportunities that are available at Westbourne.
Further information regarding the scholarships, together with all relevant application forms is enclosed. If you require further information or are unsure whether to enter your child for the scholarships please do not hesitate to contact us. We would also encourage you and your child to visit Westbourne; in our experience it helps if the children feel relaxed and familiar with Westbourne when they sit the exams.
Please download the forms and return to our Bursar, Mrs Vina Khan.
