Extra classes mean extra staff
We welcome several new staff to Westbourne:
Joanne Vickers joins as a Reception class teacher as
we begin the year with two classes in this year group. Joanne graduated
from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA (hons) in Advanced Early Years
Education. She has a keen interest in performing arts and is a member
of Manor Operatic Society, Dore Gilbert and Sullivan Society and an ambassador
for the annual International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton,
Derbyshire. Joanne will be offering a Monday lunch time Modern Dance class
to L3 and 4.
Coralie Swainsbury - Drama teacher, joins Westbourne
after teaching Drama and English in Sheffield schools for over 20 years.
Coralie's interests are mainly in the Arts and enjoys reading, the theatre,
singing and playing the guitar and piano.
Jonathan Clark joins as a Year 5 Form Tutor after teaching
KS2 at Dronfield Junior School for 8 years. Jonathan has a keen interest
in sport, especially football.
Emma Heyes joins as a Year 6 Form Tutor after completing
her Primary PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University.
Emma is enthusiastic about Maths and helps to lead a Maths Masterclass
on a Saturday morning in Rotherham. Emma is also interested in dance and
gymnastics and has recently completed an intermediate British Gymnastics
Primary school club course.
Lee Howell - ICT assistant, previously worked at Ecclesfield
School for three years. His main interests are motor racing and computers,
and his hobbies include golf, snooker, pool and football.
Chris Heald joined Westbourne as the school bursar in
January 2006. Chris is a trained Chartered Accountant and worked as a
Financial Controller at Claremont Hospital for 5 years before joining
Westbourne.
Chris also has a Level 1 FA Coaching qualification and manages a girls'
U10 football team, as well as coaching a boys' U12 team.
Marie Pritchett joins Westbourne to teach Music in Senior
School after previously teaching music and music technology at Eastwood
in Nottingham.
Marie studied contemporary music at Bretton Hall college and then Education
at Huddersfield University.
She was also the assistant musical director for Eastwood School’s
productions.
