Music booms!

There has been a surge in pupils taking extra-curricular music lessons at Westbourne thanks to Head of Music Joanna Burley.

In September last year there were 25 pupils taking peripatetic music lessons including guitar, piano, singing, brass, woodwind and violin. This has now increased to an impressive 70 pupils – one third of the students at the school.

Violin in particular has become a popular choice with the younger children at Westbourne with nine pupils from Years 1 and 2 starting before Easter.
