Thursday 4th October marks National Poetry Day and Westbourne Senior School kicked off their celebration of this event with Mrs Loane and various students delivering an assembly on this year’s theme, “Change”. Students throughout Senior School have been studying a variety of poems on this theme and have been encouraged to write their own pieces. National Poetry Day coincided with the re-opening of the Senior School Library which has been closed for several weeks for a huge tidy up to make room for new stock. In their English lessons today, Year 7 students exhibited their work by pinning their poems, many of them written up onto butterfly templates, to a huge washing line in the library. They were also all keen to take home one of the many new exciting library books on offer.
