Westbourne School launches £2m School expansion project... See NEWS section

Westbourne pupils are celebrating yet another great set of GCSE results, with 81% of Year 11 gaining at least 5 passes at grades 4 and above including Maths & English (A*-C), and 64% gaining 5 passes including Maths & English at the new more challenging grade 5 and above.

The new subject specifications in almost all subjects have not stood in the way of our pupils’ success, with 21% of pupils gaining a 9 (A**) grade in at least one subject, and 65% gaining at least one grade 7 (A).

35% of all exams taken by the year group were at grade 7 or better, and 76% were at grade 5 or better.

Eight of our most able pupils averaged above a grade 7 (A) across all their subjects -Gilby Chatha, Eleanor Dalton, Lambrini Das, Emma Hardie, Jessica Leatherland,  Elliott Renshaw and Greg Shahane.

Special congratulations are due to Jessica who achieved the top grade 9 (A**) in 10 GCSE subjects.

We are a non-selective school and are immensely proud of all our pupils’ achievements at all grades – they will now move on to Sixth Forms and Higher Education courses across Sheffield and beyond.
