NEWS & EVENTS

Fame!

Westbourne Junior School have had a performing bonanza this term.

Our own CD recording

Every pupil, from Reception through to J6 sang on the CD. Each class sang a favourite song for the album. There were also instrumental solos as well as some special ensembles. J3 and J4 came together for a rousing rendition of ‘She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain’ and for the final track, the entire school sang ‘Paint a Perfect Picture’. The CD is available to buy from Westbourne Junior School for £10.00. Email enquiries@westbourneschool.co.uk

Television performance

Westbourne Junior School Choir are now TV stars after singing live on YTV at the opening of Sheffield Christmas Grotto. The choir sang We Three Kings as presenter Gaynor Barnes introduced the programme and then they closed the programme with a rousing Calypso Carol. Family and friends were among the crowds who came to watch the children singing and everyone was impressed by how beautifully the choir sang. The children were also able to enjoy a pre-performance snack in the beautiful Winter gardens, and then after the performance, were allowed to be the first to see inside the new grotto.

Tapton Nursing Home

J3 and J4 entertained residents with a special Christmas performance. Westbourne are the only school to visit this home at Christmas and the residents really enjoyed listening to the carols and seeing the children. J3 even dressed up in Victorian outfits. “They sang beautifully and looked great, I am very proud.” said Miss Nickson.

Drama Club

One of many thriving activities and clubs available to Westbourne students. Drama members are currently studying for the prestigious LAMDA awards.
