On Monday 16th October Westbourne once again took to the stage at the iconic Leadmill - the mainstay of the Sheffield live music scene. The Leadmill sees some of the  leading bands from across the country regularly playing at its venue. Pulp, The Killers and Arctic Monkeys are just some of the bands who’ve played there, however for one night only, Westbourne music makers took centre stage.

This is definitely one of he most popular events on our calendar - around 200 super fans turned up in the form of staff, students and parents for an absolutely memorable night. The talent on display and the confidence shown from our Year 5 to Year 11 performers was incredible!

"Our acts showed the diversity of talent at Westbourne. What a great experience for the children to be able to perform in a real band venue and at such an iconic location. I hope this will inspire the children and make them hungry for more," said Mr Woodward, Head of Junior School Music.

Just some of the many positive comments received.

"Dear Mr Woodward, I just wanted to congratulate and thank you and the other music staff for such a great night. The kids all did really well and clearly loved it - as did we. Events like Gig Night are part of what make Westbourne special - a chance for them to explore their wider selves through music, drama, sport etc in a safe and supportive environment." Mrs Hughes

"Dear Mr Woodward, thank you so much for organising such a brilliant event. The kids were all fantastic as was your band. I have never seen Tom so nervous but so pleased with himself!"  Mrs Raw

"We all really enjoyed the night and were so amazed and impressed by how brave and talented the children were on stage!  Thanks very much for your efforts in organising this." Mr and Mrs Gray

"Thank you for an amazing evening. Such well organised and talented children. We were delighted with Ameer’s performance and can’t wait for him to keep developing his music this year! Thanks so much for your amazing support he certainly couldn’t have done this without you. Many thanks once again. Mr and Mrs Al Tamini
