To further extend their knowledge and understanding of the Victorian era, pupils from Year 6 visited Southwell Workhouse.
Following significant investment the workhouse has been restored to it's original condition and provides an interactive learning experience for our pupils. During the entire morning session children were dressed up in character as workhouse children and were taken on a guided tour of the building by actors, who described what life would have been like in 1841. An informative workshop followed a brisk lunch before heading back to school. A very rewarding visit!
