On Saturday 7 October, 11 members of Team Westbourne completed Night Strider in support of St Luke’s, our charity of the year. Joe Davies and David Hughes (Year 6), Sam Jokhi (Year 7), Erin Davies and Peter Kilner (Year 8) plus family and friends completed the 10km night walk that started in Tudor Square headed out to Endcliffe Park and Broomhill before ending back in Tudor Square. So far, they have raised or donated more than £330 to support local people and their families dealing with an illness with no cure.
It was a fantastic fundraising weekend as Night Strider took place just 24 hours after our fabulous annual charity fashion show hosted by Charlie Lilly. It was a real party atmosphere in the Junior School Hall as volunteers took to the catwalk to showcase our very own fashionista Charlie Hawley’s wonderful wares. Everone had a great time, whilst raising money for a great cause.
Megan Senior, Community Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s said; “we were delighted when Westbourne chose us as their charity of the year and we’re really amazed by the support we’ve already received. I thoroughly enjoyed Friday’s fashion show and was really touched to find out some pupils and their families had taken on and conquered the challenge of Night Strider to support us. Thank you so much for everything so far and I look forward to seeing lots of you over the coming year.”
