Summer Terms ends Friday 13th July at 12noon - School reopens on Tuesday 4th September

On Friday 6th July the old Westbournians returned for a competitive rounders match against our current U15 girls.
In the first innings, the OWs bat first. Old girl Sophie Tomlinson scored a rounder off every bat this afternoon. Current pupil, Ellie Dalton was our fielder of the day for tremendous quick thinking and accurate throwing. She caught out 4 of the OWs within the first 20 balls.  After 27 good balls, the OWs scored an impressive 11 rounders.
Following this, the U15 girls came in to bat. Chloe Bennett hit a great shot in between 3rd and 4th base. The girls were willing each other on and showed great teamwork skills. The U15s scored 7.5 rounders after the 1st innings.
In the second innings both teams were determined to score highly. The OWs continued to bat strongly and they picked up a number of 1/2 rounders as well as full rounders. The U15 girls were tight in field and they were able to prevent the OWs from running away with the game.
The overall score was 17-14 to the OWs. It was lovely to see a mix of girls from previous years at Westbourne and the atmosphere throughout the afternoon was wonderful!
