Karting champion’s sponsorship dream

Russell Danzey in year 11 being hailed as the next Lewis Hamilton is looking for sponsors to help keep his sporting dream alive.

At just 15 years old, Russ has reached the highest level of karting in the UK and Europe.

He was the youngest driver to ever qualify for the European finals and has won at British Championship level.

This year sees him step up his campaign to Senior events and

he is looking to race in the British Super 1 Winter and Summer Series and the European Championships – if he can find the financial support needed to stay on track.

Up to now, Russ’s racing ambitions have been financed in the main by his parents, Robert and Kathryn.

But as he moves further up the sporting ladder it is becoming increasingly important that the family should find some extra support.

“Everybody who makes it in motor sports does it with sponsorship,” said Kathryn. “Any help at all that we receive would be fantastic.”

“We know there is a recession at the moment but there are still businesses who want to support young British talent and invest in their future,” said Kathryn.

“Russ is definitely earmarked as a name to look out for and it would be great for a south Yorkshire business to show some support for him.”

In return for sponsorship, Russ would make himself available for corporate events, would carry corporate branding at all race events and ensure the sponsor name was mentioned in all media coverage, which includes press and television.

“Russ’s long term aim is Formula One but it will be a struggle if he doesn’t get some sponsorship,” said Kathryn. “As a family we are committed to providing Russ with all the support we can but we do know that we need that extra financial backing if he is to achieve all he wants to achieve.”
