Meet our Head of Junior School

Mr Adrian Tedcastle BSc (Hons) PGCE QTS

Mr Tedcastle has been at Westbourne for the past eight years and Deputy Head for the past three years.
Experienced in teaching Junior School children, he knows our children and parents well and is also an active member of our Senior Management Team.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our section of the Westbourne School website, we hope you find the information contained here useful.

The Junior School at Westbourne works with children from Reception to Year 6. A large number of our children join us from our own on-site Pre-School but a significant number also come from other schools in the area, both independent and maintained.

Our children enjoy their learning and thrive in small class sizes (average of 14), often with extra adult provision, where each child is facilitated in working towards becoming an independent learner capable of fulfilling their academic potential.
All Junior School children are involved in their very own Westbourne Journey where their efforts and contributions are recognised in the three foundations of effort, citizenship and school community.
As our children grow and develop on their journey through Key stage 1 and 2 they become familiar with staff who will teach them in Years 7 and 8 when they transfer into our Senior School.
This again allows our children to flourish and work confidently; making the most of the many varied and new opportunities available to them.
Please take a moment to read some of the pages contained within this site and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to come and visit us.
