MARTIN LOXLEY - Chairman
Educated at High Storrs, Sheffield. Following my qualification as a solicitor (in 1980) I was made a partner at Irwin Mitchell where I am head of the Family Law department. Married with 2 daughters; Charlotte who was educated at Westbourne until age 11 and Sarah who continues at Westbourne. Member of the Board since 2001. Elected Chairman in 2007. My interests include Sheffield Wednesday F.C (more out of blind loyalty than enjoyment) racquetball and golf. Live music remains a passion.

EMILDA EATON
Parent Governor
Emilda has been a parent governor since September 2005 and has one child in Junior School. She is a member of the legal profession and is presently a partner with a local practice. Emilda was educated in Germany, Sri Lanka and Malaysia before coming over to the United Kingdom in 1986 to undertake her further studies. She moved to Sheffield in 1993 when she qualified as a solicitor. Her main governor role is advising the board on issues surrounding the Charity Commission.

   

JASON HEATH
Former pupil and Parent Governor
Educated at Westbourne School. Subsequently at York University he is a Partner in sixth generation family funeral directing business John Heath & Sons. Former Secretary and Chairman of the Old Westbournian Association. He has been a governor since 2000. Very happily married to Louise they have three boys, two currently at Westbourne and the third starting in September 2010.

   

ANDREW EATON
Current parent

A former pupil and current parent of two children in senior school. After qualifying  as a chartered accountant in 1991 I moved into industry and worked first for the Siemens group and then the Rentokil group. After 20 years living in the south of England I moved back to Sheffield in 2008 so that my children, George and Sophie, could attend Westbourne. I now work as a Financial Accountant for IMI Cornelius in Hillsborough. I have an interest in military history and aviation and enjoy hiking as well as the occasional game of cricket.

DR FRANCES O’CONNOR
Parent Governor
Read Medicine at Oxford University and St. Thomas’ Hospital London. She has been a partner in General Practice in southwest Sheffield for 16 years. Frances's three children all attended Westbourne School and having been the first woman to study medicine at St. John’s College, Oxford, is delighted that her children were able to attend an independent co-educational school in Sheffield. Enthusiastic about education, she has just graduated from Sheffield Hallam university, having studied History of Art. She continues to study Italian.

  BRENDAN MOFFETT
Director of Marketing at 'Creative Sheffield'

Brendan is the Director of Marketing Sheffield, the city's official promotional arm - driving Trade, Talent and Tourism opportunities for the city.

Previously Brendan worked for some of the world's leading Marketing Services Agencies, such as WPP, on global brands ranging from Guinness to General Motors.

He had 2 successful spells with media giant EMAP plc in a variety of roles, at the sharp end of dynamic markets in broadcasting and publishing including the early development of many digital brands.

Between these spells, Brendan was on the founding board of ZOO Digital Group plc , a team which grew the business to a £40m market cap and flotation on the stock exchange.

Brendan holds an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University, specialising in Marketing Innovation.

His passions are football, music and travel.

MIKE SHIELD
Vice-Chairman, Parent of former pupil
Over forty years experience in the property, business development, finance and investment sectors.  Mike has been a Governor since 1998 and has been involved in the acquisition and redevelopment of both Ashdell House and Ashdell Grove.  He is married to Gemma and has two children both currently at University.  Likes skiing, squash, shooting, motor cycles and his Aston Martin.

   

ANDY FALCONER
Headmaster of St Olave’s School in York.

He is Chairman of the independent Association of Preparatory Schools, representing 600 of the leading prep schools from around the world and holds an MBA. A current schools’ inspector and a former director of the Independent Schools Inspectorate, a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, a governor at Moorfield School for Girls in Ilkley and a member of the Independent Schools Council Advisory Board.
